The University of Iowa - Kinnick Stadium
This panorama, photographed by Robert Pettit, captured the Iowa Hawkeyes football team playing the Black and Gold Spirit Game at Kinnick Stadium to a sold out crowd. The University of Iowa's fans showed their spirit by wearing gold in the even numbered sections and black in the odd sections, which gave them the opportunity to "Paint the Town Black and Gold" and "stripe" historic Kinnick Stadium in their school colors. Iowa Hawkeyes football was founded in 1889, completed its first undefeated season in 1899, and began competing in the Big Ten Conference in 1900. The University is located in Iowa City, Iowa, and is considered one of America's 'Public Ivy' universities.
A beautiful fall night under the prairie sky, with the fans "striping" the stadium in black-and-gold sections, and the Hawkeyes winning a thriller over Northwestern - it doesn't get any better than this! This panorama takes you inside Reser Stadium on October 15, 2011, at the second-annual "spirit day" night game spectacular. Whether you were there in attendance that evening, were watching on TV, or are simply looking for a beautiful gameday panorama of Kinnick Stadium for your wall, this one's for you! A rare, beautiful poster for your wall, and a valuable collector's item for years to come.
