This one was published in 1989 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of one of Minor League Baseball's greatest developmental leagues, the New York-Penn League (originally the PONY league, founded in 1939). Thanks to the venerable Topps baseball card company, the poster features classic baseball card designs for 18 of the greatest NY-Penn players in history! Featuring Wade Boggs, Rick Dempsey, John Elway (they use a Broncos NFL card for him), Nellie Fox, Dwight Gooden, Jerry Koosman, Bud Harrelson, Bill Madlock, Robin Yount, Maury Wills, Tug McGraw, Phil Niekro, Tony Perez, Jim Rice, Warren Spahn, Mel Stottlemyre, Don Mattingly, and Willie McGee. Incredible that this group of Hall-of-Famers and Superstars all played in the short-season-A league over just a few decades. The year and team for each of these players is printed on either side of the nostalgia collage picture at the center of the poster.
