University of Virginia - Scott Stadium
This panorama of the University of Virginia's Scott Stadium was taken by Nathan Haler. Scott Stadium's Pergola Plaza and grass hillside help make it one of the nation's most picturesque football stadiums. Located in Charlottesville, Virginia, Scott Stadium opened on Oct. 15, 1931 with a seating capacity of 22,000. The stadium was built thanks to a gift from Frederic William Scott and Elisabeth Strother Scott, and was dedicated to the memory of his parents, Frederic Robert Scott and Frances Branch Scott. In addition to serving as the home of Cavalier football, Scott Stadium has hosted performances from the Dave Matthews Band, the Rolling Stones and U2. After several expansion projects, the stadium's capacity is now 61,500.
Saturday afternoon at the stadium, with the Cavaliers taking the field with pyrotechnics and tunes, and a jam-packed crowd going nuts - it doesn't get any better than this! This panorama takes you inside Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, as a new season of football on campus begins. Whether you were there in attendance that day, were watching on TV, or are simply looking for a beautiful gameday panorama for your wall, this one's for you! A rare, beautiful poster for your wall, and a valuable collector's item for years to come.
