Step back in history, and re-live those classic moments in time, before they were stars! This incredible boxed DVD set will blow you away with its depth of coverage and amazing value for the money. For the first time ever, original full-game broadcasts from the annual World Junior Hockey Championships are available to be viewed again on DVD! The folks at Video Service Corp. have delved deep into the archives to restore seven complete games, plus bonus materials, into this wonderful set. Included are Canadian television broadcasts of the following historic matches, with introductions by hockey broadcasting guru Bob McKenzie, and play-by-play from the CBC's legendary Don Whitman, and TSN's Jim Houghson, Paul Romaniuk, and Gord Miller:

1982 World Junior Championships - Canada vs. USSR - December 26, 1981, Winnipeg Arena - Canada's first attempt at putting together a true national All-Star team for the fledgling tournament proved wildly successful, as the team roared through the round-robin-only tournament with a 6-0-1 record and a gold medal. This amazing performance saw Canada throttle the Russians 7-0, as Mike Moffat earned the shutout, and future NHLers like Marc Habscheid, Scott Arniel, Paul Cyr, Troy Murray, Paul Boutilier, Garth Butcher, Randy Moller, and James Patrick dominated from start to finish. As a bonus, a highlight package from the final game of the tournament, the tense 3-3 tie with Czechoslovakia on January 2, 1982 that earned Canada the championship, is included.

1985 World Junior Championships - Canada vs. Czechoslovakia - January 1, 1985, Helsinki, Finland - Thanks to goal differential, Canada needed only a tie with Czechoslovakia in the final game to take home the gold. With brilliant goaltending from Craig Billington, offensive explosions from Brian Bradley, Adam Creighton and Stephane Richer, and glimpses of future greatness from Wendel Clark, Claude Lemieux, and Shayne Corson, this Canadian team was one of the best. Watch this broadcast for the final appearance of the revolutionary (not) Cooperall uniforms, and for the earliest-available action from a scronny little Czech goalie named Dominik Hasek.

1988 World Junior Championships - Canada vs. USSR - January 1, 1988, Moscow, Russia - A year after the infamous "Piestany Punch-Up", Canada faced off against Russia in the championship game, looking for revenge against the squad that sucked them into disqualification in 1987. The Russians featured two very young superstars, Alexander Mogilny and Sergei Fedorov, but Canada's depth eventually won the day. With a roster that included future NHL stars Rob Brown, Theoren Fleury, Adam Graves, Mark Recchi, Joe Sakic, Eric Desjardins, and Trevor Linden, this may have been the most star-studded roster ever assembled in tournament history.

1991 World Junior Championships - Canada vs. USSR - January 4, 1991, Saskatoon, Canada - In front of a raucous home-ice crowd, Canada needed an outright win to supplant the Russians in first place for the gold. Deadlocked into the dying seconds, Canada's goal was slipping away to the Pavel Bure-led Soviets, when one of the most famous goals in the country's hockey history was blasted into the twine from the point by unlikely hero John Slaney, and the rest was history! With amazing performances from future NHL stars Eric Lindros, Patrice Brisebois, Pat Falloon, Kris Draper, Mike Sillinger, Brad May, Scott Niedermayer, and Trevor Kidd, this was another star-studded team with talent, chemistry, and pure guts.

1993 World Junior Championships - Canada vs. Sweden - December 26, 1992, Gavle, Sweden - With one of the most talented collection of rosters ever assembled in World Junior Hockey history, Canada's challenge was vast entering the tournament in December 1992. In one of the grittiest underdog efforts ever, Canada took on the mighty home-ice Peter Forsberg-led Swedes, and gutted out a tight 3-2 victory in a game that ultimately meant the difference between eventual gold and possible elimination. Manny Legace was unstoppable in goal, while future NHLers Martin Lapointe, Paul Kariya, Alexandre Daigle, Chris Gratton, Chris Pronger, Jason Smith, Rob Niedermayer, and Adrian Aucoin led the way to victory.

2005 World Junior Championships - Canada vs. Russia - January 4, 2005, Grand Forks, ND, USA - Thanks to the NHL lockout, more top-flight juniors were available than ever before, making this the most talented Canadian squad in memory. The boys in red did not disappoint, as Canada rolled to a 6-0 record, and a 6-1 victory over Russia in this final game. Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin were pounded into submission by Canada's giant defense, while Patrice Bergeron, Ryan Getzlaf, Jeff Carter, Sidney Crosby, Corey Perry, Nigel Dawes, two-way threat Dion Phaneuf, and Mike Richards powered the offense.

2007 World Junior Championships - Canada vs. USA - January 3, 2007, Leksand, Sweden - Before dominating the Russians in the final game for the gold, Canada faced its toughest opponent, the USA, in the semi-finals. With Steve Downie, Kris Letang, Kris Russell, Tommy Pyatt, Brad Marchand, Sam Gagner, and Marc Staal keeping Canada alive in a 1-1 match through overtime, Carey Price saved the day with brilliant shootout saves, and Jonathan Toews scored the winner past American goaltender Jonathan Frazee, in one of the most intense games in tournament history.

Bonus Footage: Highlights from the Summer 2007 "Super Series" in Russia; "Best Goals" highlight package, including Wayne Gretzky's spectacular individual effort in 1977; Highlights of the 1982 Canada-Czechoslovakia Gold Medal Game.

Whether you're a proud Canuck hockey nut, a lover of International hockey, or simply a fan of the NHL game and the stars who appear in these games, this is a rare, thrilling collection that you'll treasure forever. An absolute must-have addition to your sports DVD library!
