It was a long and winding road, but in the end, he finally made it to the NBA! Šarūnas Marčiulionis was one of the world's great basketball players in the 1980s, representing his native Lithuania as a member of the USSR's international program, helping it to win gold at the 1988 Olympic Games. After aborted attempts by Golden State and Atlanta to free him from Soviet control and bring him to the Association, the Warriors finally arranged his contract with the crumbling Kremlin in 1989, and the NBA's first Soviet star was born! While his NBA career never took off to superstar status, he did earn 6th Man of the Year honors after the 1991-92 season, and on the strength of his International greatness, was named to the Hall of Fame in 2014. This poster, from the great Costacos Brothers, combines his unusual life's travels, with the Bay Area's love for The Grateful Dead, to provide a unique and wonderful celebration of the man, the athlete, and America itself. An iconic classic, awesome design - a must for the wall and collection of any serious fan! Note: this poster is part of the COSTACOS FINAL STOCK Collection, preserved perfectly in original condition since production; limited quantity remains in our warehouse.
