1995 U.S. Open Championship, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, June 15 to 18, 1995
This panoramic photograph was taken from a helicopter by James Blakeway. It features an aerial view of Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, one of the founding clubs of the USGA. The stately clubhouse, designed by Stanford White, is prominently featured in the photograph. Built in 1892, it is the oldest clubhouse in America. Shinnecock Hills Golf Club is located in Southampton, New York and was founded in 1891. It was the site of James Foulis' U.S. Open victory in 1896 and Ray Floyd's victory in 1986. Other USGA Championships hosted by Shinnecock Hills include the U.S. Amateur, Women's Amateur, Walker Cup and Senior Open.
A stunning poster featuring Long Island's golfing mecca! For over 100 years, golfers have enjoyed the challenge of Shinnecock's punishing rough, countless bunkers, shifting winds and ocean air. For anyone who has played Shinnecock, or simply admired it from afar, this print is perfect for the wall of home or office!
