This vintage classic takes you back to 1986, when Bill Parcells' Giants were an NFC powerhouse, and soon to be Super Bowl Champions for the first time. This amazing poster features their dominating all-pro tight end of the era, Mark Bavaro, in his dominating gameday form, heading up field after one of his incredible 66 receptions in that incredible season. As with all posters in the "White Border" Sports Illustrated design that spanned the years 1978-1987, this one features the best of Sports Illustrated photography, the iconic white-bordered layout, and a facsimile signature from the player himself as part of the design! As with many of the 1986-87 releases in the series, this one has the added bonus of the Giants' official team helmet logo in the top-right border.
This particular poster was obtained as part of our "Toledo Collection", obtained from a collector in Ohio who preserved his large collection of old 1980s Sports Illustrated posters flat, never displayed on the wall, and virtually untouched since purchasing them out of store racks back in the day. This one displays as well as it would have back in the 1980s, with just some minor typical imperfections consistent with any poster purchased at that time.
